Sec. 18-84.  Same - Duties and responsibilities.

 

It shall be the responsibility of the parks and rec board to:

 

(1)   Serve in an advisory capacity in matters related to parks belonging to the city and establish rules for the management, care, and use of the same;

 

(2)   Lay out, improve, beautify, and design all grounds, bodies of water, and buildings owned or acquired for public parks and recreational facilities, to the extent that funds may be provided for such purposes;

 

(3)   Plan programs and leadership of recreational activities, to the extent that funds may be provided for such purposes;

 

(4)   Continue to study and promote the needs of the city for additional park and recreational facilities;

 

(5)    Perform other duties or responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the mayor or city council; and

 

(6)   Approve and recommend programs, projects and activities to the city council, which shall be done by placing such actions on a subsequent council agenda for review and approval.
