24th Annual Literature Festival

A wonderful way to spend a summer day, for literature lovers of all ages. Saturday, July 28 at Norfolk Public Library. Featuring four award-winning, nationally known authors. Tickets are available online or at Norfolk Public Library. For more information contact Karen or Amber at (402) 844-2100.

Norfolk Public Library will rock you this summer! Readers and read-to-me’s of all ages are invited to sign-up now for the 2018 Norfolk Public Library Summer Reading Program: LIBRARIES ROCK! Become a Reading Rock Star this summer with all kinds of free events at the library: games; contests; fun and exciting activities and programs; movies; book discussion groups for children, teens and adults; storytimes; lapsits; famous authors; songwriting workshop; a rock concert; fun and fascinating entertainment for all ages; good reads; fantastic reading rewards; and MORE! Craig Johnson - Creator of the Walt Longmire Mystery Series

August 18, 2018

Join Craig Johnson, author of the Walt Longmire Mysteries book series and creative consultant on the Longmire TV show, for a great evening of entertainment.

6pm - VIP Meet and Greet - $15 ticket required. – Seating limited to 40 people – Must have a ticket to attend.

  • Tickets can be purchased in the library via cash or check or online via credit card through the "Buy Now" button below.  Only 40 tickets will be sold. Ticket holders get an exclusive opportunity to visit with Craig Johnson and get reserved seating at the public presentation at 7pm. Light hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages provided, courtesy of the Norfolk Library Foundation. Tickets purchased online will be held in the library. Purchasers can pick them up at the library Service Desk before the event or at the Registration Table at the event.

7pm – Public Presentation – Free and no ticket required. Doors will open at 6:30pm and seating will be limited to a total of 200 people. Book sales and autograph session will follow the program.

This book club for adults meets the last Wednesday of the month and is led by Karen Drevo.


20's & 30's Book Club

Thursday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m - The Orphan Keeper by Camron Wright

This book club for adults in their 20's and 30's meets on the last Thursday of the month and is led by Anneka Ramirez.

Tuesday Night Book Club

Tuesday, July 31st at 6:30pm - The Lightkeeper's Daughter by Jean Pendziwol

This book club for adults meets the last Tuesday of the month.

 

Creative Coloring for Adults

Mondays at 2pm

Coloring has been shown to reduce stress and is a great relaxing and creative activity.  Join us on Monday afternoons to color and unwind.  Supplies are provided by the library.

Needles, Hooks & Books

For needle crafters of all ages.  An informal time to work on a project, share info & skills, talk about books and meet others interest in needle arts.  This group meets every other Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome!

Movies @ the Library

Movies are shown at 2:30pm in the Large Meeting room.  Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Live Trivia @ the Veranda

The second Tuesday of the month is Live Trivia Night!  Teams of 1-4 players compete for a $40 gift card to Divots.  The quiz is led by Librarian Quiz Masters.  It's free to play and lots of fun!

Dates for this season are January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, and May 8.
