Craig Johnson - Creator of the Walt Longmire Mystery Series

August 18, 2018

Join Craig Johnson, author of the Walt Longmire Mysteries book series and creative consultant on the Longmire TV show, for a great evening of entertainment.

6pm - VIP Meet and Greet - $15 ticket required. – Seating limited to 40 people – Must have a ticket to attend. SOLD OUT

  • Ticket holders get an exclusive opportunity to visit with Craig Johnson and get reserved seating at the public presentation at 7pm. Light hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages provided, courtesy of the Norfolk Library Foundation. Tickets purchased online will be held in the library. Purchasers can pick them up at the library Service Desk before the event or at the Registration Table at the event.

7pm – Public Presentation – Free and no ticket required. Doors will open at 6:30pm and seating will be limited to a total of 200 people. Book sales and autograph session will follow the program.

Thursday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m - The Orphan Keeper by Camron Wright

This book club for adults in their 20's and 30's meets on the last Thursday of the month and is led by Anneka Ramirez.

Tuesday Night Book Club

Tuesday, July 31st at 6:30pm - The Lightkeeper's Daughter by Jean Pendziwol

This book club for adults meets the last Tuesday of the month.


Creative Coloring for Adults

Mondays at 2pm

Coloring has been shown to reduce stress and is a great relaxing and creative activity.  Join us on Monday afternoons to color and unwind.  Supplies are provided by the library.

Needles, Hooks & Books

For needle crafters of all ages.  An informal time to work on a project, share info & skills, talk about books and meet others interest in needle arts.  This group meets every other Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome!

August 11 from 2-4pm

Aksarsben: Nebraska's Racetrack trailer (2 or 13 min) - Ehren Parks - a preview of the upcoming feature film about one of America's greatest racetracks that is no long there, and the impact it's had on rural Nebraska

Sandhills Cowboy (15 min) - Brigitte Timmerman - A portrait of a cowboy poet

Bugeaters (65 min) - Jim Fields - Highlighting the time before the Huskers, this film tells the story of the Nebraska Bugeaters struggle to find their footing in the 19th century. 

See Nebraska is a partnership between members of the Nebraska film community (Nebraska State Film Office, Nebraska Independent Film Projects and Long Tale Inc.) and Rabble Mill to bring independent film to small towns in Nebraska that feature the state of Nebraska. 

Live Trivia @ the Veranda

From September through May, the second Tuesday of the month is Live Trivia Night!  Teams of 1-4 players compete for a $40 gift card to Divots.  The quiz is led by Librarian Quiz Masters.  It's free to play and lots of fun!
