For Kids & Teens

Lapsit

  • Wednesdays 10:00 - 10:20am 

For infants through age two with a caregiver, this program is a fun way to begin library visits and literary experiences. Come learn beginning sign language, songs and baby games while listening to stories and meeting other families with young children.

No registration is necessary.  Please drop in!

Storytime

  • Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:00am
  • Thursdays 1:30pm - 2:00pm

For children age three through grade two, this fun class helps build vocabulary while teaching basic sign language through stories and songs.

No registration is necessary.  Please drop in!

Young Adult Book Group

Y.A.B.G. (Young Adult Book Group) is for any teenager who loves to read and talk about books.  Group members select what books they want to read and discuss, and at this time are meeting during the summer months only.  Refreshments are served. Contact Amber at the Youth Services Department with any questions.

Golden Sower Book Club

For ages 8-12 - Meets on the last Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m.  Their reading selections come from titles nominated for the Golden Sower Award, Nebraska's Children's Choice Literary Award.

Needles, Hooks and Books

For needle crafters of all ages.  An informal time to work on a project, share info & skills, talk about books and meet others interested in needle arts.  This group meets every other Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.   Newcomers always welcome!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Earn FREE Books for Your child!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a Library program that encourages all families to read at least 1,000 books with their young children before they enter Kindergarten. Reading to preschool-age children builds vocabulary, language skills, and helps prepare them with the skills they need for Kindergarten. Preschool-age children, birth-5 years old, can participate and will receive reading rewards at the Library for every 100 books read to them. Come sign up your child today!
