Library Renovation & Expansion Update

The Norfolk Public Library will close from Saturday, November 11 through Thursday November 30 as part of the ongoing renovation and expansion project.

During this time, more than 75,000 items in the library’s collection and all furnishings and equipment will be relocated into the new addition to the library. This move is necessary so the renovation of the existing building can occur.

What about the books or other things I check out?

Any items checked out during the week prior to the closing will not be due back until Friday, December 1. Fines will NOT accumulate during this time. Even though no materials will be due during this time, you may still return items in the book drop in front of the library if you wish.

When will you reopen?

We’ll reopen on Friday, December 1 at 9:00 a.m. You may park in the west parking lot off Fourth Street. The new entrance to the building will be on the northern side.
For a schedule of programs during this time, please visit the library calendar of events.
