Investigations
The
Norfolk Police Division's Investigation Unit is comprised of seven
individuals. A Sergeant supervises four criminal investigators and
two drug investigators. The criminal investigators are responsible
for the investigation of major felonies such as homicides, serious
physical and sexual assaults, commercial burglaries, and high dollar
thefts. An investigator is also assigned to work in conjunction with
the Department of Health and Human Service - Child Protective
Services, in the investigation of child abuse.
The drug investigator is a member of the Specialized Narcotics
Abuse Reduction Effort (SNARE) taskforce. This investigator assist
local jurisdictions and the Nebraska State Patrol in illegal drug
possession, sales, and transport in a seven county area, which
includes Norfolk.
The Investigations Unit is also responsible for receiving the
calls on the Norfolk Area Crime Stoppers phone line and the
