Swimming Pools
The City of Norfolk has swimming and wading pools at three
different locations. They are open from approximately May 24 through
mid August. The pools may close for the day with little notice for
reasons such as nearby lightning, cold temperatures and other
unanticipated circumstances. Memorial Pool and Liberty Bell Pool are
full sized pools and each do have a small children's wading pool.
The daily fee for entry to these pools is $2.00
or a single admission season ticket may be purchased for $40.00
(includes youth, adult and Sr. Citizen). A family pass season ticket
is $80.00. Children age 5 and under are free but must be accompanied
by someone over 18 years of age. Season tickets may be
purchased at the Recreation Coordinator's office located in the City
auditorium at 127 North 1st Street.
Swimming lessons are given at Memorial Pool. Four sessions will
be offered: June 1 through June 11, June 15 through June 25, July 6
through July 16 and July 20 through July 30. Classes are held Monday
through Thursday for two weeks with Fridays reserved for make-up
days in case of inclement weather. Sessions 1, 2 & 4 will have
classes at 4:45 pm, 5:20 pm and 6:00 pm. Session 3 will have
classes at 11:00 am, 11:40 am, 4:45 pm, 5:20 pm and 6:00 pm.
