Electronic Books Online

netLibrary

netLibrary is the most comprehensive collection of online books (eBooks) and resource materials available. Using netLibrary, you can access a wide range of scholarly and reference materials entirely online.

In order to checkout netLibrary books or access netLibrary from home, you must first set up a personal  account at the Norfolk Public Library.  This is a one-time process and is similar to signing up for a library card to establish borrowing privileges with a specific library. We recommend that you create your personal netLibrary account before you begin searching for a book to checkout.

To create an account you must come to the Library.  Creating an account from our location verifies that you are a resident of the area.  After you register for an account at the Library, you will then be able to access netLibrary anywhere, anytime.

  1. Access netLibrary by clicking on any of the blue netLibrary hot links.
  2. Click on the Create Account button that appears on the netLibrary navigation bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Fill out the Create an Account form. Required fields are labeled with bold red text.
  4. Click on the Submit button at the very bottom of the screen.

Once you have created your personal account, you can access netLibrary from home. To do so, go directly to the netLibrary home page available at http://www.netlibrary.com and log in using the user name and password you chose when you created your personal account. You must log in to access books owned by your library.
