LearningExpress Library

What is LearningExpress Library?

LearningExpress Library is a free online resource offered to current Norfolk Public Library cardholders.  LearningExpress Library offers the practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life.  The tests are all automatically scored and provide thorough explanations for answers.

How to access LearningExpress

To access Learning Express, you must first create a user account.  To do so, follow the easy steps below.

  • Access LearningExpress Library by clicking on the blue LearningExpress Library hot link on the top of this page.  (You can also access LearningExpress Library through the Online Databases link.)

  • Click on the Register button that appears beneath the New User heading.

  • Select a user name. *If you will be accessing LearningExpress from home, or anywhere outside of the library, your username must be your library card number.

  • Select a password you will be able to easily remember.

  • Click on the Register button at the very bottom of the screen.

  • Once you have created your personal account, you can begin to access LearningExpress Library.

Computer Skills Resources

LearningExpress Library provides online training and testing for useful computer programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Educational Resources

LearningExpress Library offers a variety of educational testing and preparation resources for students in elementary school all the way through college.

  • Elementary School materials focus on math and reading skill improvement.

  • Middle School materials focus on math, reading, and writing skills in addition to high school entrance examinations.

  • High School materials focus on math, reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills.

  • GED Preparation materials provide a broad review of the core competencies required to acquire a GED.

  • College Preparation materials provide links to many useful practice tests and examinations for incoming and aspiring college students (ACT, SAT, PSAT, CLEP, TOEFL, and several others).

  • The College Students' link contains materials addressing the math, reading, writing, and vocabulary skills that will be useful for current college students.  Information addressing graduate and technical schools is also present.

Vocational Resources

LearningExpress Library also offers several useful resources for applying to and landing your ideal job.

  • The Job Search and Work Place Skills link provides users useful information related to writing business letters, creating resumes, and interviewing for positions.

  • The Jobs and Careers link provides practice tests organized by career field. 

  • The Skill Building for Adults link provides information and tests for math, reading, and grammar skill improvement for adults who may be looking to improve their skills or simply to brush up.
