Programs This Week: Sept. 22 - 27

Wednesday at 10am - Lapsit - for babies up through age 2 and their caregiver- A perfect introduction to the library for your little one, join us for songs, stories and get to know others with young children.

Wednesday at 10am - Wednesday Morning Book Group - This month's book is Inferno by Dan Brown.




Wednesday at 2:30pm - Movies @ the Library - This week's feature is "Captain America: Winter Soldier" starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.  (PG-13) 

Wednesday at 6:30pm - "Latinos: Searching for the Good Life in Nebraska" with Ben Salazar - Salazar uses his experiences as a Latino who was born and raised in Nebraska, as well as other experiences such as his participation as an activist during the 1960s and ’70s, to educate others about Latino issues in the state.

Thursday at 1:30, Friday at 10:30, and Saturday at 10:30 - Storytime - for ages 3 - 8 - A fun combination of literature experiences—books, songs, Spanish language experiences, storytelling, finger plays, poems, puppets & MORE!  Parents encouraged to attend with their child.


Thursday at 6:30pm - 20's & 30's Book Club - This month's book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

October 16 at 6:30pm- "Busting Bad Guys" with Mark Langan - Hear real-life crime-fighting stories from this retired Omaha police officer's new book.

October 16 from 6:30 - 9:30pm - iPad Basics Class - Learn how to use an iPad for emailing, browsing the web, managing time, getting directions, taking notes, taking photos, and listening to music. Also learn about free applications that can be downloaded to your device. Participants need to bring their own iPad and know their Apple ID and password.

We have over 75,000 books, 5700 CDs & Audiobooks, 2800 DVDs, and 230 video games you can check out.

We have over 55,000 ebooks you can read online or download through Ebsco Ebooks and OverDrive.

Last year, there were over 148,000 visits to the library.  That means that an average of 47 people visit the library each hour that we're open.
