25th Street Paving Improvements
Project Description
The project includes roadway
improvements of 25th Street from U.S. Highway 275 to Benjamin
Avenue. Approximately 80% of this project will be paid with the
City's allocation of Federal Highway dollars administered by the
Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR).
Project Status
The following is a status
update as of May 4, 2012.
25th Street between Taylor Avenue
and Norfolk Avenue as well as Norfolk Avenue between 26th Street and
Valley View Drive will be closed to thru traffic beginning the week
of May 7, 2012. This closure will be effective for
approximately 2 months for utility reconstruction, grading, paving,
and traffic signal construction.
The current closure of 25th Street between Benjamin Avenue and Maple Avenue
will also remain closed to thru traffic. This closure will be effective for
approximately 5 more months during bridge replacement grading, and
concrete pavement construction.
The detour route during this
phase of construction will utilize Highway 275, Taylor Avenue, 24th
Street, Norfolk Avenue, Hwy 81 (13th
Street), and Benjamin Avenue. Access to local traffic along
25th Street will be maintained between the Woodwinds Apartments and
the Skyview Lake Park entrance. Pedestrian traffic
will be maintained on the bike trail around Skyview Lake as well.
