Sec. 18-17.  Norfolk Skate Park, rules and regulations.

 

The following rules and regulations shall apply to all individuals utilizing Norfolk Skate Park:

 

    1.    Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. -- no trespassing outside of permitted times.

    2.    Norfolk Skate Park is an unsupervised and "use at your own risk" facility.

    3.    Helmets, elbow and knee pads, and appropriate footwear are highly recommended.

    4.    No personal ramps are allowed.

    5.    Only skateboards, in-line skates and BMX bikes (pegs not allowed) are permitted to use the facility.

    6.    All participants must act in an orderly, safe and considerate manner while on the premises and skating/biking area.

    7.    No food, drink, gum, tobacco or pets allowed in the skate park.

   8.    No glass containers, graffiti, stickers or tagging of any kind. 

    9.    Spectators are to remain outside the skating area.

  10.    Be courteous and respectful to others - no profanity or loud music.

  11.    Reckless, dangerous or overly-aggressive participants may be required to leave Norfolk Skate Park and Veterans Memorial Park.

 12.    Children age 9 and under must be supervised by a parent or individual at least 16 years old.

 

Additional rules and regulations that may be deemed necessary may be authorized by City personnel - both written and verbal.

 

Any noncompliance is a violation subject to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).  In addition to any other penalties at law, individuals violating the rules and regulations set forth herein may, at the direction of the parks and recreation director or his or her designee, have their privileges to use the park suspended.
