Sec. 12.5-4.  Same--Appointment; terms; compensation.

 

The members of the citizens' library advisory board shall be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the city council.  The term of each member shall be five (5) years, which term shall commence on July 1.  One member of the board shall be appointed each year at the last regular meeting of the city council in the month of June.  In the case of a vacancy, the mayor shall appoint a replacement, with approval of the city council, for the unexpired term.  The existing terms of the members of the library board at the time of the passage of this chapter shall remain in effect.  No member of the citizens' library advisory board shall receive pay or compensation for his or her services as a member of the board.
