Pavement Markings & Traffic Signals
The Street Division paints centerlines, lane lines and edge lines
on city streets. Highways are painted by the Nebraska Department of
Roads. Crosswalks, arrows, and Railroad crossings are painted by the city in most
instances. A few Thermoplastic markings have been used in heavy traffic
areas. More will be used in the future. Winter is very destructive
on pavement markings, especially when deicing materials are heavily
used.
Traffic signals are maintained by city employees on city streets.
Highway signals are controlled by the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Signal timing is a difficult issue to deal with. The city maintains
all bulb replacement on all signals. If you see a light not working,
please notify our office.
